The time has come to complete the task Dumbledore left for Harry. He has to find the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them to be able to kill Voldemort and end the war.
Harry starts the dangerous journey with his faithful friends Ron and Hermione. They soon realise that the instructions Dumbledore left them aren't quite enough to help them do what they are supposed to - there's a lot of things they have to work out for themselves, and that isn't exactly easy.
While desperately trying to locate the horcruxes and find a way to destroy them, the three friends bump into another mysterious thing that seems to play an important part in ending Voldemort: the Deathly Hallows. The question is, what and where are they? To find out, Harry, Ron and Hermione must turn to Xenophilius Lovegood, the eccentric editor of the Quibbler and Luna's father, though they aren't quite sure if they should believe his stories or not. Ron and Hermione aren't so convinced, and in their opinion they should take the Horcruxes as their priority, but Harry is getting obsessed with the Hallows and is sure that they really mean something and are worth looking for.
The final battle is unavoidable, and Harry knows that. When will Voldemort find out that his one great secret has been revealed? What will happen then?

Vaikka olen lukenut seiskakirjan suomeksikin muutaman kerran, aloin nyt vasta ymmärtää täysin kaikkia niitä monimutkaisia taikoja, jotka mahdollistivat kaikki keskeiset tapahtumat tässä viimeisessä kirjassa. Kyllä, toisin sanoen olen siis elänyt vähän pimennossa, vaikka loppuratkaisun olenkin tiennyt jo neljä vuotta. Jos minun olisi pitänyt selittää, miksi kirjassa kävi niin kuin kävi, olisin osannut vain sönkätä jotain epämääräistä kaksoisytimistä ja uhrautumisesta, mutta nyt toivottavasti osaisin selittää kaiken. Siis toivottavasti. :D
Deathly Hallows oli ensimmäinen kirja, jota olin jonottamassa. Siitä syystä tähän nimenomaiseen kirjaan sisältyy niin paljon tunnearvoa, ettei sitä voisi rahassa mitata. Tuo jonotus, vaikkakin minun osaltani melko lyhyt (~ 2 tuntia), oli ensimmäinen Potter-aiheinen tapahtuma, johon koskaan olen osallistunut, ja siitä alkoi tämä miittailuinnostus, joka on antanut niin paljon lisää muuten niin yksinäiseen harrastukseen. Kyllä, kutsun tätä harrastukseksi. ;)
Elämme lopun aikoja, ainakin näin potteristin näkökulmasta. Viimeiseen elokuvaan on enää yhdeksän päivää. Sitten se on ohi. Ei enää mitään odotettavaa... paitsi...
